Remix Premiere: Cheryl – “I Don’t Care (Cahill Remix)”

Cheryl’s new single “I Don’t Care” has been given a fantastic club remix from UK-based DJ, production and remix team Cahill. The song, out November 9th in the UK, is the second to be taken from her forthcoming studio album, Only Human. The lead single from the album, “Crazy Stupid Love” featuring Tinie Tempah, entered the UK Singles Chart at number one, becoming Cheryl’s fourth number one single on the chart. Only Human is out November 10th.

The Runners, known for their pop and hip-hop smashes for the likes of Rihanna and Rick Ross, are now taking a new direction into the dance world. The Miami-based production duo of Dru Brett and Mayne Zane are stepping out with their first original dance floor production “We Will Stand,” available now at iTunes following its debut on SIRIUS XM’s Beta BPM show hosted by Kramer. For the track, The Runners teamed up with NYC producer Alec Maire for this beautiful burner of a big floor house track. It features vocals by Frederick with lyrics penned by Jenson Vaughn, who wrote Armin Van Buuren’s cross-over smash “This Is What It Feels Like.”

Billon To Release New Single “Special” Featuring Maxine Ashley

British house duo Billon are gearing up for the U.S. release of their current single “Special,” featuring Bronx-born Pharrell Williams’ protegé Maxine Ashley, on October 21st via Rinse/Interscope Records. The soulful dance floor anthem is currently available for streaming via digital subscription services and via digital download pre-order.

Since forming in 2013, the London-based duo of Ed Butler and Robbie Lamond have attracted growing acclaim for their dense and melody-saturated club tracks. Combining crisp, cutting-edge production with a love of classic analogue synths, Billon create a sound that both nods to the past and looks to the future of electronic music, drawing influence from classic house, techno, and UK garage. They have released two EPs, 2013’s Turn It Around and 2014’s Meditate, and are known for their remixes of hits by such acts as Kiesza, Route 94, Ella Eyre, and Wankelmut & Emma Louise.

Cyndi Lauper Releasing “She’s So Unusual” Remix EP, Listen To New Remix

Cyndi Lauper will release a remix EP to accompany the recently released 25th Anniversary Edition of her debut solo record, She’s So Unusual. The release, titled She’s So Unusual: REMiXED, will be released on October 14th in the United States via Epic. While the majority of mixes found on the EP have already been released, it appears it will include a few previously unreleased remixes: the Lord Warddd remix of “Time After Time,” which you can stream above, and a remix of “Girls Just Want To Have Fun” by a four-piece band out of New York called Anamanaguchi, who you might remember from their remix of Porter Robinson’s “Sad Machine”.

This isn’t Cyndi Lauper’s first remix project. In 2009, Lauper released “Floor Remixes,” a remix album that was exclusively sold in Japan. You can pre-order She’s So Unusual: REMiXED on iTunes now.

When you have a music blog, you’re bombarded on a daily basis with music that isn’t worth the few seconds that it takes to click the link…..but every once and awhile, clicking that link pays off in a big way. That’s what happened today when I checked out the song “Beh Leave” by Los Angeles-based producer and DJ Unlike Pluto.

“Beh Leave” is the type of song that makes me fall in love with music over and over again. Set to deep house beats, soaring vocals and an irresistible melody, the track rolls along beautifully. It is bold, yet lighthearted, and the production couldn’t be better: offering up builds and drops that work in unison to elevate the song to even greater heights. If you only check out one new song today, please, let it be this one! I “Beh Leave”, and you should too. Holy fuck, this is good. Russian pop singer Alina Artts has released her new single “High Enough” in America. The single, which encompasses an electro-dance spin on the Marvin Gaye classic ‘Ain’t No Mountain High Enough’, is out now on iTunes with an army of remixes from Stonebridge, Erick Morillo, Tracy Young, Mike Rizzo and Papercha$er. Alina plans to visit this fall for a series of live appearances.

Canadian pop singer Kiesza has announced that her debut album, Sound of a Woman, will hit stores on October 21st via Island. The record will include the single “Hideaway,” which reached the #1 spot in the UK charts earlier this year and remains the fastest-selling debut of year, as well as the new single “No Enemiesz”.

With her music, the Calgary-born 25-year-old pays homage to some of the most notable names in pop music — Michael Jackson, Martha Wash, CeCe Peniston and Robin S — while adding in more recent influences like Disclosure and Hot Natured to conjure an irresistible hybrid musical sensibility, and the pop music world has taken notice.
