Britney Spears has unveiled the artwork for her forthcoming studio album, Britney Jean. In a handwritten message posted on her official website, Spears explains to fans that Britney Jean will be her “most personal record yet.”

I haven’t sat down to write you guys in SUCH a long time. Long overdue! We’re all so used to getting our thoughts out in 140 characters, but sometimes its nice to take time to sit down and write something a little longer and more personal. I am putting the finishing touches on my new album, “Britney Jean” over the next few days and I am so excited for you to hear it. I poured my heart and soul into this album and it’s been an incredible journey. I’ve learned a lot about myself, and as I am finishing, I am reminded of the incredible foundation that has supported me for the last 15 years. Thank you all for continuing to follow me on this journey and for allowing me to do what I love to do. I can’t believe this is my eighth studio album and I know I keep telling you that it is my most personal record yet, but its true and I’m really proud of that.

I have been through a lot in the past few years and it has really inspired me to dig deeper and write songs that I think everyone can relate to. Working with people like Sia, William Orbit, and of course Will.i.am has been an amazing experience. They have listened to all of my ideas and helped me bring them to life. There are a lot of really fun, upbeat dance songs, but it was important to me that I show my strength, and my attitude, and my vulnerability. Of course, I also have some surprises for you guys

I want to show you the different sides of Britney Spears. I am a performer. I am a Mom. I am funny. I am your friend! I am Britney Jean.

It’s Britney Jean, Bitch: Britney Spears Names New LP

In an interview on Capital Radio’s breakfast show just hours ago, Britney revealed the title of her new studio album: Britney Jean. ”It’s a personal album, and all my family, they always call me Britney Jean,” Britney explained. “It’s like a term of endearment, and I just wanted to share that with my fans.”

For the LP, which finds Brit Brit co-writing every track, features contributions from Sia, will.i.am, William Orbit, Naughty Boy and Danja. Sounds like a nice lineup, but I can’t see my self loving anything will.i.am, who is acting as the executive producer, has his hands in. But I am still holding out hope that Britney Jean will be on the same level as Blackout. It is Britney Spears, after all. Who knows what she has in store for us. Britney Jean is scheduled for release on December 3rd.

I wasn’t a fan of Britney Spears’ new single, “Work Bitch,” so it is no surprise to me that it’s dropping down the charts pretty quickly. But this mashup created by DJ DigiMark is fantastic! It has actually turned me into a fan! The mashup features Britney’s “Work Bitch,” Frankie Goes To Hollywood’s “Relax” and RuPaul’s “Supermodel (You Better Work).” You can download the song in exchange for a ‘like’ on Facebook! Don’t Call It a Comeback: Britney Spears Premieres New Single

When a pop icon like Britney Spears releases a new single, it’s usually cause for celebration. Unfortunately for us, Britney’s new single, “Work Bitch”, offers us little to celebrate. The song, which features mostly spoken lyrics, follows the current trend of EDM producers spending way too much time meticulously crafting a song that sounds both forced and artificial. The song is so horribly contrived that it’s going to turn a lot of people off from the opening verse. Oh, and don’t get me started on Britney’s awkward fake British accent.

You’ve heard generic songs just like this before from the likes of Romanian singer Inna and German Eurodance act Cascada, but it’s shocking to hear from someone who should have her finger on the pulse of the pop music scene. It’s shocking, really. “Work Bitch” is a hilarious, foolish disaster that reveals just how much of an influence Will.i.am is having on Spears. Please Britney, make something worthy of your pop legacy. “Work Bitch” doesn’t work on any level.

Britney will release her as-yet untitled new studio album on December 3, 2013.
