The collaboration really isn’t much of a surprise considering the fact that Steward moved to Italy in the 80s and released several singles on international labels.

“Sunshine Girl” isn’t likely to put Amii Stewart back on the top of the pop charts, but it could have a strong presence on dance radio, especially with Ponte on board. Amii Stewart still has a stunning voice that has held up very well over the years. The song itself could be considered conventional dance radio filler, but there’s no shame in that. It sounds best when played loudly. “Sunshine Girl” is out now on iTunes.

She has dabbed in everything from the disco sound that defined the 70s to smooth soul, which some may argue her voice was made for. Continuing this trend, the notable songstress has teamed up with 28-year-old producer Janitor on a new concept EP titled “fortytwo” – the actual age difference between Houston and the up-and-coming producer.

The first single from the EP is the chill inducing song “Enemy”. The sparse production complements Houston’s octave vaulting vocal performance perfectly. Lyrically, the song builds into a frenzy of dark emotions that somehow leads the listener to pure sonic euphoria. “Enemy” is a gut wrenching masterpiece that should have a spot in every music lovers collection. So what about the rest of the EP? Honestly, I can’t get past “Enemy”. This is gonna take some time, but I’m going to enjoy every minute of it.
