Annie Lennox has premiered the music video for her new single,”I Put A Spell On You.” Speaking about the song, which was originally written and performed by Screamin’ Jay Hawkins in 1956, Annie says: “When I recorded this song it was kind of like, “I think I really get this from the perspective of a vengeful woman”. There are so many ways to interpret it, but I’ve taken the infidelity line. The issue of infidelity between men and women is a common theme that a lot of people will identify with.”
“I Put A Spell On You,” available now on iTunes, is the first single from Annie’s forthcoming album, Nostalgia. The LP, a collection of the iconic singer’s impassioned takes on standards primarily from the 1930s and 1940s, will be released on vinyl on September 30 before being released digitally on October 21st.
