Have you ever wanted to hear Kylie Minogue or Britney Spears collaborate with iconic Italo-disco producer and composer Giorgio Moroder? Well, the wait is almost over! 74-year-old Giorgio Moroder will release his first studio effort in 30 years in the spring of next year via Sony.
“Sony/RCA constitutes one of the most groundbreaking histories in the world,” Moroder explains. “As my new label, I believe my record will live up to their history, but more importantly, pave the way for the future! Sony from here to eternity.”
The as-yet untitled studio album will feature guest spots from Kylie Minogue, Britney Spears, Sia, Charli XCX, Mikky Ekko, Foxes, Matthew Koma, among others. To give us a taste of the new album, Moroder has released a new single titled “74 Is the New 24.”
“Dance music doesn’t care where you live,” Moroder says of the new song. “It doesn’t care who your friends are. It doesn’t care how much money you make. It doesn’t care if your 74 or if you are 24 because… 74 is the new 24!”
