Single Review: Dave Audé ft. Andy Bell – “Aftermath (Here We Go)”

Erasure vocalist Andy Bell and DJ/producer Dave Audé have teamed up on a new single titled “Aftermath (Here We Go),” and the result is something pretty spectacular.

Among an endless sea of forgettable pop songs that are forced in our direction on a daily basis, “Aftermath (Here We Go)” shines brighter than the rest. In less experienced hands, this dance number could have been soaked in aggressive beats and cliché production, but Bell and Audé layer it with a delightful mixture of hypnotic grooves and shimmering synths. The result is a shamelessly catchy song that soars with an airy, irresistible melody, and a delightful arrangement that radiates pure euphoria. There is feeling, sincerity and clarity in Bell’s voice that somehow captures everything that should exist in a memorable pop song.

Make no mistake about it, “Aftermath (Here We Go)” is the single of the year. I love absolutely every single second of this. You can stream “Aftermath (Here We Go),” which will be available April 1, 2014 via all major digital retailers, by clicking here. Pop is still alive!
