Pop superstar Mariah Carey will release her new album, Me. I Am Mariah… The Elusive Chanteuse, which is her fourteenth overall studio release, on May 27, 2014 by Def Jam. The record features production from Rodney Jerkins, Jermaine Dupri, David Morales, Hit-Boy and Atlanta-based producer Mike Will Made It, and includes contributions from Miguel, Nas, Fabolous, and Carey’s twins Moroccan and Monroe.
Speaking about the album with Billboard last year, Carey said, “It’s about making sure I have tons of good music, because at the end of the day, that’s the most important thing…. There are a lot more raw ballads than people might expect… there are also uptempo and signature-type songs that represent [my] different facets as an artist…. Wherever we go with this project, I’ve tried to keep the soul and heart in it.”
Mariah, who is the best-selling female artist of all time with more than 200 million albums sold to date and eighteen Billboard Hot 100 #1 singles (seventeen self-penned), released her last non-holiday studio album, Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel, in 2009. The release peaked at number three on the U.S. Billboard 200.
