Openly gay actor/singer John Partridge, best known for playing the role of Christian Clarke on long-running BBC television soap opera EastEnders, released his debut album, Dames, Dudes + Cowboys Too, yesterday via Big Hand Recordings.
The album, available on iTunes, features three original tracks alongside several cover songs that he holds close to his heart, including a moving rendition of “Jolene” by Dolly Parton, “Bite the Hand That Feeds” by Nine Inch Nails, “Me and Liza” by Rufus Wainwright and “Love Runs Out” by One Nation.
Speaking about Dames, Dudes + Cowboys Too, Partridge, who has performed backing vocals and dance routines in videos and on world tours for the likes of U2, Pet Shop Boys, Neneh Cherry, and Kim Wilde, says: “I wanted each song to sound and feel completely new, to have a life of their own.”
If you’re lucky enough to be in London on September 17th, you can see the album come alive with Partridge headlining the Borderline, Orange Yard, Off Manette Street, London, W1D 4JB.
