MTV UK today revealed the nominees for the 2014 MTV EMA, the world’s annual music awards show that celebrates the year’s hottest artists from around the globe. Katy Perry leads the nominations with seven nods, including Best Song, Best Video and Best Female. Meanwhile, breakout star Ariana Grande trails with five nods. One Direction, Nicki Minaj, Iggy Azalea, Eminem, Sam Smith and Kiesza all received four MTV EMA nominations each. Aussie exports 5 Seconds of Summer are up against British heroes One Direction in the Best Pop category, and their tribes will face-off Twitter-style in the Biggest Fans category.
Voting in all categories is open at mtvema.com until Nov. 8. The 2014 MTV EMA’s will take air on November 9th at 7 p.m. ET from SSE Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland, following a pre-show special in Miami, Fla.
