The Top 125 Songs of the 1980’s!

This week I have done the impossible! It took several days, but I have somehow managed to compile a list of my favorite songs from the decade that brought us MTV, Nintendo, and Pac-Man. This list leans heavily to the Top 40 side of pop music, but, if you look closely, you just might find something you forgot about.

For me, the 1980’s were a wonderful time: a fantastic blur of parachute pants, big hair, shoulder pads, colorful pop stars, slap bracelets and Pee-wee’s Playhouse. I was really too young to enjoy the music of the decade. But over the years, my appreciation for the music of the 1980’s has grown exponentially. For most of us, music has always played an important role in our lives. I find it remarkable how certain songs can become attached to life experiences that will live on for as long as we do. Each of these songs have been there for me through various moments in my life.

As with any list of this nature, it is all subjective, based on my own personal taste. I tried to find links to iTunes for each single, but some aren’t available digitally. Initially, I attempted to compile a list of my 80 all-time favorites, but this proved to be a nearly impossible task. So without further ado, here are my top 125 singles of the 1980’s.
