Iconic pop/rock band Texas will mark their 25th year in music by releasing Texas 25, a greatest hits album composed of tracks that have been re-recorded and re-worked with New York record label and production team Truth and Soul, known for their work with Adele and the late Amy Winehouse.
Regrettably bypassing the 2005 single “Can’t Resist,” Texas 25, out February 16, 2015, gathers their best-known hits, including “Black Eyed Boy,” “Halo,” “I Don’t Want a Lover,” “Summer Son,” and “Inner Smile.” The unique hits package also boasts four new tracks exclusive to the release. It will be available on CD, vinyl LP, and digital download formats.
Ahead of the release of Texas 25, the Scottish pop outfit is previewing the album by streaming the new version of “Inner Smile.” The track, originally released as a single in January of 2001, peaked at number six in the United Kingdom, according to The Official Charts Company. So are Texas fans loving the new version of “Inner Smile”? Well, a quick glance at the official Texas Facebook page shows that reaction to the new version is mixed at best.
