New Music: Sophie Ellis-Bextor – “Birth Of An Empire”

Pop diva Sophie Ellis-Bextor will release her new studio album, Wanderlust, globally on January 20, 2014 via iTunes. Speaking about the album, which she says was quickest she has ever recorded, Sophie says: “…this album is unlike anything I’ve made before, really. In the past I’ve made songs with different people and so there’ll be different producers. I suppose this one has been more how they used to make albums. It’s just great musicians playing it as we go. Most things were done in just a handful of takes.”

Thanks to a Spanish radio station, we now have our second taste of Wanderlust in the form of the song “Birth of an Empire.” I have been extremely impressed with what we’ve heard from Wanderlust, so I am counting down the days until it is released! Stream “Birth of an Empire” below.
