Missing Persons Announce New Studio Album, “Missing In Action”

After a long absence from the world of pop music, new wave band Missing Persons — featuring original vocalist Dale Bozzio — will release a new studio album, aptly titled Missing In Action, on March 24, 2014 courtesy of Los Angeles-based independent record label Cleopatra Records. To celebrate the release of their new LP, the band will have two exclusive Southern California concerts at Saint Rocke in Hermosa Beach on January 10 and at The Coach House in San Juan Capistrano on January 19.

Missing In Action, their first new studio album in 28 years, was produced by Billy Sherwood. Sherwood composed the album alongside Bozzio and brought a modern twist to the classic Missing Persons’s sound. According to the press release, a record release party is planned and a nationwide tour will launch in March. The LP will be preceded by the release of the single “Hello, Hello.”

If you’re too young to remember Missing Persons, the band had a string of memorable pop hits in the ’80s, including “Words,” “Destination Unknown,” and “Walking In L.A.” With her unforgettable pink streaked hair, fishbowl bra and bubblewrap jacket, Bozzio would become an iconic figure of rock fashion, the original glam diva, inspiring the likes of Madonna, Gwen Stefani, Lady GaGa, and others. The band released their last studio album, Color in Your Life, in 1986. You can view the tracklisting for Missing In Action below the music video for my favorite Missing Persons track: “Destination Unknown”.
